  • You're covered for trip cancellation, trip interruption, and trip delay.

    • Travel Guard provides reimbursement for the prepaid, non-refundable, unused portion of your vacation should you need to cancel or interrupt your vacation due to an unexpected illness, injury, job termination and other covered reasons as listed in the plan. The plan also covers additional out-of-pocket expenses for meals and accommodation, as well as for travel expenses to catch up to the vacation due to covered travel delays. Best of all, if your reason for cancellation is not covered for reimbursement under the plan, we provide you with a credit for a future cruise.

  • Lost Luggage

    • Travel Guard provides coverage for loss, theft, damage or delay of your luggage and personal belongings brought with you on the cruise.

  • Medical Expenses & Transportation

    • Travel Guard reimburses medical expenses incurred as a result of illness or injury that occurs during your vacation. The plan also provides emergency medical transportation coverage to transport you to the nearest appropriate medical facility to treat your condition.

  • Covered 24/7 Around the Globe

    • Travel Guard provides an international, around-the-clock hotline with services including weather and travel advisory information; lost luggage and travel document assistance; cash transfer assistance; emergency medical and legal referral assistance; travel arrangement assistance; and medical consultation and monitoring (Services provided by On Call International).

Q. How do trip cancellation and interruption coverage apply?

A. It reimburses for forfeited, non-refundable, unused payments or deposits if the insured must cancel or interrupt their trip due to covered reasons. The interruption benefit may also include coverage for additional transportation expenses.

 

Q. What else is typically included in a Travel Guard insurance plan?

A. In addition to trip cancellation and interruption, most travel insurance plans include coverage for trip delay, missed connection, baggage, and personal effects, baggage delay, medical expense, and emergency evacuation which includes repatriation of remains. 24-hour assistance services are included to help the traveler with things such as emergency medical assistance, lost baggage tracking, emergency cash transfer, emergency or last-minute travel arrangements, assistance with replacing lost travel documents, and much more.

 

Q. Does the Baggage and Personal Effects coverage include all items I may take with me while traveling?

A. No, there are some items that are not included such as artificial prosthetic devices, false teeth, any type of eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses or hearing aids, tickets, currency, etc.

 

Q. Will the plan reimburse for the single supplement if my traveling companion cancels?

A. If a traveling companion cancels and you are held responsible for a single supplement, you would be covered for the change in the per person occupancy rate as long as the reason for the cancellation was covered under the terms of the plan.

 

Q. What if I need a proof of my coverage to obtain a visa (a Schengen letter)?

A. Please call the Travel Guard World Service Center at 1.800.826.1300 and a representative will be able to provide you with this information.

 

Q. How do I file a claim?

A. Call Travel Guard at 1.800.826.1300, their claims department is available Monday - Friday 7 am to 7 pm CST. A representative will start the claim with you over the phone and explain what needs to be provided in order to process your claim. The form will then be mailed, faxed or emailed to you for signature and you will be asked to provide the appropriate documents.
