1. Q: What is the name of the cruise ship?
A: Royal Caribbean - Jewel of the Seas

2. Q: What is included in the cruise rate?

A: The price includes your cabin, entertainment, UCE private events, all meals, and government taxes & fees. 

This ALL INCLUSIVE vacation price does NOT include air transportation, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, shore excursions, photographs, medical services, gift shop or souvenir purchases, beauty/barber/massage services and gambling/casino fees.

3. Q: Is airfare included in the cost of the experience?
A: No, airline tickets are purchased separately and are not included in the price.

4. Q: Which airport do we fly into?
A: The Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the preferred airport for UCE 2020. 

5. Q: When should I plan to arrive and depart from Dubai?

A: Arrival at the Cruise Terminal:
For your comfort and convenience, we recommend that guests who have not completed their 
Online Check-In arrive at the cruise terminal no later than 1:00 p.m. (Dubai local time). Guests who have completed their Online Check-In should arrive at the terminal no later than 2:00 p.m. (Dubai local time).  We STRONGLY recommend guests complete their Online Check-In at least four (4) days prior to sailing.

Final Boarding Time:
In order to facilitate the embarkation process and the processing of your eDocs, and to comply with new government regulations governing departure manifest, all guests are required to complete 
Online Check-In at least one day prior to sailing and must complete check-in at the cruise terminal and be onboard the ship no later than one hour prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents or they will not be permitted to sail. Please note guests who have not filled out their Online Check-In must arrive at port by 1:00 p.m.  Any late arriving guest may join the ship at an approved port of call in the scheduled itinerary. Such guest will be responsible for all applicable fees and travel expenses to that subsequent port of call.

Boarding Time in Ports of Call:
In all ports of call, it is also the guest's responsibility to be back onboard the ship no later than one (1) hour prior to the ship's scheduled departure time. Please be aware that shipboard time may differ from the port of call and it is the guest's responsibility to follow the shipboard time. In the event a guest misses the ship, it will be the guest's responsibility to pay all expenses incurred to rejoin the ship.

6. Q: How do I pay for my onboard expenses?
A: For your convenience, all shipboard expenses are charged to your Onboard account. Sign up when you check in, establishing your method of payment with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB Card, Diner's Club. You may also use your debit card however please be advised that we obtain pre-authorization, as we do for all Credit Cards, and some banks hold these funds for up to 30 days. Cash can also be used as a method of payment to settle your account with an initial deposit paid in advance.

Using your debit or ATM card

  • Royal Caribbean does not recommend the use of a debit card as payment for your onboard folio.

  • Please be advised that multiple holds will be placed on your debit card account based on your onboard purchases.

  • After settling your onboard folio, these debit card holds may remain on your account up to 30 days after the cruise ends.

  • To avoid overdraft charges from your bank, please make sure that you have enough available funds in your account during this hold period.

  • Royal Caribbean will not be responsible for overdraft charges resulting from holds placed on Debit Card accounts.

Traveler’s Check / Cash Procedures

A cash deposit may be placed on your onboard account in the following amounts:

7 day cruises - $300 USD per person
Less than 7 days - $150 USD per person
More than 7 days - $450 USD per person

Once you have exceeded the deposited amount, your account will be closed to further charges. You can deposit as much money as often as you'd like throughout the cruise, however, refunds cannot be made until the day of disembarkation for any excess.

**Personal checks will not be accepted, nor can they be cashed on board.

7. Q: What can I NOT bring on the ship?
These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found, and passengers should not bring them onboard any Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship:

  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, and dangerous chemicals will not be returned.

  • Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas.

  • *Sharp Objects, including knives and scissors.

  • Illegal Drugs & Substances

  • Candles & Incense

  • Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Steamers & Hot Plates

  • Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows

  • Skateboards & Surfboards

  • Martial Arts Gear

  • Self-Defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks.

  • Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.

  • HAM Radios

  • Electrical Extension Cords

  • Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint.

  • **Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages


*Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.
** Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from shops onboard will be stored by the ship and delivered to you on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.

8. Q: What happens if I am not able to make the trip once I have paid in full?
A: Troubles can occur when you least anticipate them forcing you to cancel or interrupt your trip, lose your vacation investment, and incur unplanned expenses. We strongly encourage you to consider purchasing the Vacation Protection for $109/per person. 


9. Q: What is accepted as valid proof of citizenship for a United States citizen?
A: A current passport is REQUIRED!


10. Q: What are the passport requirements for Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)?
A: Dubai requires guests to provide proper travel documentation in order to travel. A passport is required. UCE assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.

It is recommended that all guests travel with a valid passport during their travel.  It is also recommended that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond completion of travel.

11. Q: Will there be any pre-cruise events in Dubai prior to sailing?
A: Yes.  We plan to have pre-cruise events before UCE 2020. Please contact us at for more information.
